Happy New Year everyone! In about two hours I'll be broadcasting om the VHF, "All ships all ships, happy new year!". Hopefully I get some responses!
We are now 1150 nm from Cape Verde and 1050 nm from St Martin, so we are half way! There's no turning back!
Today, we have done some calls to our loved ones at home, had a fancy carbonara dinner and tried to hide from the strong sun. The waves are calmer and longer now than before, which makes our lives a lot easier (especially while cooking). The winds have been strong, between 20 and 28 knots the last two-three days, so we're making a lot of progress with about 180nm per 24h! These winds are probably gonna last until the end so we are counting with another week until we get there. Our biggest problem is remebering to drink enough water when it's so sunny..!

Had a good sleep this evening, totally missed dinner :) Oh we caught two fish and had them for dinner. Emma seasoned it up and reheated for me and it was great ... I think we could have gotten Anne to eat it :)

So the trades are again blowing and building ... very smooth... we sometimes surf the 1 mete waves to 8 kts ... As they get bigger I think we'll surf even more.

We blow up the spinnikar today, Marcus and Emma are still tring to fix it ... a little more time needed.

Seen boat 400 NM away on AIS !!! and talked to one 89 miles away !!! The VHF must be working now :)

A good night ... children are still a sleep and the sun has been up for 2 hours :) They must be tired ... but from what I don't know !!

Hopefully we will be sailing under spinnikar soon and back to the breaking 150 NM we did yesterday.

Greetings from the Atlantic! Today has been another hot, sunny day with a nice breeze that allowed us to run the spinnaker for a couple of hours. No fish unfortunately, but plenty of seaweed insted. Who thaught there would be lots of seaweed this far out? One thing on the list I wrote named "Things I would like to google if it was'nt another 2000nm before I get internet again". It's a pretty long list.
The boys even smell nice now, we treated ourselves with both showers and laundry today! Well, we all needed it..
Part from that, we have feasted on fruit salad, tuna melts & a lovely dinner of minced meet beefs cooked by Marcus himself! That's all from me tonight, now it's time for my watch!

Light winds over night made progress slow. Forcast is light winds for today also... we are making progress ... all be it a little slow.

Crew in good spirits ... enjoying the sun shine finally .. air temp is to the 28 or more in the afternoon.

Fishing has been really disappointing... lots of sea weed clogging the line ... we have a 1 kt current with us so I guess the sea weed comes with the current.

We keep trying.

So today is my Birthday. 21 again. Thanks for all the well wishes, and presents ... some came a very long way.

The morning started out slow but is really getting going now, surfing 1 meter waves at 8.5 knots.

Moral is good and the kids are working hard to get all the jobs done. We opened my birthday presents and got some really nice gifts from Helen (AKA Ma) and Butch. Thanks for going to so much effort to get them here.

Fishing has resulted in nothing so far ... but we keep trying. We have had a few bits and even saw a fish ... but cot nothing :( Next time

Ahoy!

Today we have been out at sea for three days. During this time we have had the pleasure
of celebraiting christmas two times. On the 24th, Swedish christmas. It was celebrated strict under the traditions,
Disney at 1500, dinner with fish as starter and meatballs as main. Unfurneltly had our christmas ham swimmed away.
"Var Julskinka har rymt" but we were furtune that we had celeri instead.

Today the 25th we celebrated chrsitmas again, we oppened our presents.How knew even santa found us here in the middle of
the Atlantic ocean... However a special thanks to Anne at home whom had a someting to do it. Thanks!!

Some of you may notice wile cheking our route that we have been heading more south than west. Don't worry,
we are well awere of this. The passageweather has an big low front just north frome us that is killing all the wind.
Our tactic is therefor to sail bellow this and after tomorow we will start heading west with great conditions.

For you at home who is more intrested about rain, sun and waves, than the wind and sailing. We can inform you we have had
sun all the way so far. Almost no clouds at all. The waves is around 2 feet high, and during the night of the 24th the sea was like an mirror.
Simontainlsy we had dolphins whom were swiming around a playing around the boat. The ocean were cover with tracks of the
dolphins routs whom sparkled with the ilumination "marseld".

Day three started well. Now the spinnikar is up and we are cruising. We have another sail boat off to our right called Justo Medio. We haven't seen it yet, but Marcus is convinced we will. Everyone had a good night sleep ... lets hope for many more days like this one.

Merry swedish christmas everyone! For those who doesn't know, swedes and germans celebrate the 24th of dec which means we have two days of christmas here onboard. We celebrated by putting our spinnacker up! The spinnaker gives us a few extra knots of speeds so we can almost see the Caribbean on the horizon! Almost..

So we left Cape Verde yesterday with good wind behind us sailed south to try and maintain some good wind, but it wasn't to be and most of the night we got 5kts of less which made forward progress really slow. Today is a new day and the winds are supposed to build a little in the coming hours and we should be back to normal speeds.
The crew are all doing well, loving the bed when they are in them but going there part when on shift.
So what's for dinner ??? Let's see if we can catch something.
