Monemvasia ... And new friends

After a great nights sleep in the little port of Gerakas and with everyone aboard we headed to the historic city of Monemvasia.  This was to be a short hop, only 7 NM. But as near the port I knew there was no way we could stay an hour ... the city looked amazing.

The whole gang at the entrance to the city
Jeb and Wendy testing out the cannon :)

We walked to the top of the old city to get a view from the highest point ... well worth the walk / climb.
On the way back down we stopped for a photo :) On the left are Jeb and Wendy trying to open a crack in a rock. They nearly succeeded :)
Finally at the bottom we posed for this photo. Just outside a beautiful church. Everyone was in great form and really enjoyed seeing the city ... a break from sailing and the boat doesn't hurt from time to time.

The inside of the old church. The city is making a little bit of a revival and the number of hotels in such a small town was astonishing.

In the morning while the guests were still a sleep Joseph and I untied the boat from the wall we were tied to, climbed on board and headed for Poros, the last port of call before out guests would start their journey back to the US.
One last photo before we left of two turtles swimming behind the boat... we don't see turtles everyday
